I always get up before everyone and light candles, start a fire in the fireplace and put on the Christmas music. Then I make Cinnamon rolls, coffee and orange juice. When everyone gets up, the house smells great and is warm and 'Christmasy'. Then we pass around stockings and while we eat our cinnamon rolls and drink coffee or juice, someone will read the story of the Birth of Jesus from the gospel of Luke. Then, we have a glass pickle ornament hidden on the tree and the first one to find it gets to hand out the presents. We make sure each person has one, and then open them all at the same time. Then we do it again. The grown-up's usually run out of presents first, so then my favorite part is to just sit back and drink my coffee and watch the kids have a great time. Then, we usually take a rest before going over to a relatives for dinner.
I love Christmas and the wonderful warm feeling that comes with it. I try to make it last as long as I can and remember it all year long.

Our family is very small, so we open presents one at a time.
A nice ham dinner.
My dad used to read "A Christmas Carol" out loud over a couple of evenings.
We save/reuse bows and package decorations. We had one sparkly star that showed up on presents for about ten years.
Before we stopped drinking, strong eggnog.
A long walk around the neighborhood after dinner.

We always watch the movie "The Christmas Story" every christmas morning...sometimes its just me and my husband that watch it...then we have a light breakfast and one at a time..open gifts.....that way everyone gets to see the others reactions and it takes a little longer so we get to spend that much more family time together before going to see the rest of the family and having Christmas dinner.
BUt ever since my kids were little we have always watched the christmas specials....Rudolph...Frosty....The Grinch....I still watch them..but now its usually with my grandson (he is 4)...and the one thing my kids will tell you or pass down to their kids....
It doesnt matter who tells you Santa isn't real .....Santa (the spirit) lives in your heart !!!!!
Thanks for the GREAT Question !!!!!

On xmas eve we get with my partners parents and exchange gifts and do dinner together and play games.
On xmas morning my partner and I get up and go across town to fill my two little sisters xmas socks where they are staying, then we wake them up and open gifts with them. Then we head back home and open gifts together. That afternoon we go to my grandmas to meet with the family and eat the lunch we all pitched in for and open gifts with them. We then go home and rest and take down the tree. Then we go to my partners mom's house for dinner.

Macaroni and cheese goes with the dinner. Not the kind out of the box but the home made type with onions, mushrooms and an insane amount of grated cheddar cheese.

The kids wake up and see what Santa brought them. Then we go to my sisters for a late breakfast, then we go to my Grandmothers, then we go to a family dinner that night.
