I want to move to California so bad! A position has become available in Newport Beach can anyone tell me about the OC?

Newport is a beautiful city. As someone above mentioned, Californians refer to Orange County as OC - not The OC. If you come out to California and say The OC, people will laugh at you. Sorry, we are weird like that.
I don't know your financial situation, but if you're like most - you will more than likely be living in another city in orange county. Neighboring cities HB and Costa Mesa are a bit cheaper, but not that much. Lots of people commute from Irvine, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, and Anaheim - all nice areas as well.
It's just that Lower OC, i.e., Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point & Laguna Niguel, is so much more expensive than the rest of OC.
Some of the reasons are obvious. The pacific ocean in your backyard, mild year round climate, protected state parks with beautiful mountain regions that go right to the ocean, and of course the beaches. Generally, OC beaches are frequented by families. With the expection of the Point at Newport, the beaches are clean.
The people are very chill and laid back. Since the weather is nice year round, people do a lot more outdoor activities and are very health and image conscience. HB has a lot of good night life and restaurants as wells. Sharky's at the beach is the spot!
Either way, it's a personal decision. I've been lucky to travel the entire country. I live in San Diego and personally, I could never live anywhere else other than California. It's easily the best place to live in the country.

good luck on that, its already expensive enough where i live, in South Laguna Beach, luckily my parents bought our house when prices were reasonable, now, itd prolly be around a few million or so because almost every house in laguna has an ocean coast view, and Newport Beach is said to have even more expensive housing, well depending on where around there you wanna live, generally Balboa Island and Newport Coast are said to have the most expensive houses around Newport Beach. and itd definetely be possible to live in Newport Beach as a psychiatrist, you may not have one of the most fanciest/hugest houses, but still a nice enough home.

I got a couple house in San Feiro and Los Santos,...I'm starting to own some out in Las Venturas!!!
