Actually, Reno is farther west. California angles east from the San Francisco area. If you examine a map, or better yet a globe, you will see what I mean.

Reno NV

On a Flat Map it appears to be L.A. But the world is round and the Latitude of Reno NV is actually further West than L.A.. . . tricky question for the geographically challenged.
