I work for Chrysler customer service and this an ongoing problem with these vehicles. They have not found a solution for it as of yet. The company advises the dealers to tell the customers that they can not find the problem because they don't know what is causing it.

Check the power steering fluid, If there are air bubbles that can happen and then the problem disappears until the next air bubble pops up. The power steering pump may appear to be working properly but can still be causing the air bubbles. If they change the power steering fluid, it will take a week to run through the system.
