Suggestions:
1. You are selling things few people are interested in. If I want a pair of socks I buy them locally - I would think you need to chare more for carriage than I would pay for the socks!
I am taking it as read that the socks are brand new - and that you are not trying to get folks to buy second hand socks - this is NOT "cool stuff" you know.
2. Paper machete? Do you mean papier mache? Either way, I suspect you are selling things with a limited appeal.
3. Is your pricing right and do you make payments easy?
Clearly *something* is not working - if you had given us a link perhaps - or a specific example, it would be easier for us to comment.

Thats funny! Nobody wants to buy socks or paper mache on ebay...its just not worth it. Think about it...your probably selling old, used socks for atleast $1.00 plus shipping aprox. 99 cents....thats like 2 bucks for old socks! I could just go to the store and get new ones!
You might have a better chance at selling dvds or cds. Good luck!

Try getting better pictures of your items. Try posting your listings to end in a busy night, where almost everybody is at home. let's say thursday night. Try offering better shipping. You must study the different rates and be very precise when assigning a shipping and handling fee. Don't try to rip off people. It won't work. Another thing is to increase your feedback. Buy stuff and pay on time. We seller like that. You MUST get at least 50 feedback. Do it!

Well, I hate to say this but most people on Ebay don't want to buy the things you're trying to sell. Most people want designer or expensive things for cheap. The things you're trying to sell are things they could get...from a yard sale.

Hi,
Interesting post. I started my eBay selling "adventure" about 4 years ago. I tried unsuccessfully on and off for about 2 years to sell products on eBay. There are so many factors that need to be right in order for people to bid.
I had this nagging feeling that it's a solid business model to sell on eBay, so I didn't give up. My wife was watching TV and saw an infomercial for a course to learn how to sell and be successful on eBay. She bought it for me for my birthday 2 years ago, and I'm EXTREMELY successful at selling on eBay on.
When I saw your question I looked to see if the same kit is still being sold, and I found it for FREE on the Internet! They're only asking $1.95 for shipping!!!!!

I highly recommend this course if you want to be successfull, and you certainly can't be $1.95
Good Luck

Set your price at $0.01 and don't set a reserve price. Also, make your descriptions of the items concise. Show pictures of the items from different angles so people can get a good idea of what you ae selling. Other than that, you'll only get bids if people are interested in what you have to sell.
