I live in Utah, and I think your sentitment is more strongly felt in places like that. However, our vote can be felt the most at the lowest level, i.e. county, city, state, and those are what effect our lives. There is always a reason. If nothing else I voted for/against propositions that will determine taxes, transportation, and open space. That feels good.

It's the people that think like that that cause a breakdown in the system all together. Voting is very important. Look at each candidate carefully and make your decision from that, not from what is said on TV campaigns where all they do is bash each other. It can actually be kinda fun researching candidates. NOW GO OUT AND VOTE!!!!

Apathy like that is WHY those who are "high up on the political chain" have the "power" - because they're the ones who still bother to go to the polls.

Estimated turnout in my state today is like 40% of registered voters. That means that 60% of eligible voters are too damned disinterested to take two hours to go vote.

Now - WHOSE fault is it that the government that gets elected isn't what people want?

you have in elementary terms a constrained time to %. the ultimate answer your self on your person questions. That starts 4-5 hours when you submit your question and ENDS 4 days after posting. throughout the time of that factor, you and in elementary terms you could choose for a ultimate answer on your question and get decrease back 3 factors. After the 4 days, what you're doing is balloting -- and your vote in elementary terms counts for a million vote, merely like all and sundry else's . they don't be attentive to who you voted for, or why; they only vote who they think of is ultimate. and ordinarily, they are able to outvote you.

When it comes to what our "elected" leaders are going to do for us. The only phrase they understand is, "Money Talks". Powerful lobbyists and industry leaders pull the puppet strings. All the voting is for is to give us the illusion that we as a people really are in charge.

i disagree. my vote matters as much as anyone else.
but how to be really powerful is work on campaigns to get votes.
if you get 100 or 1000 people to vote for your candidate
that makes a big difference. to make an even bigger one, run for office yourself or work in your party in your precinct, state, etc.

You are so wrong my friend.
You need an American History lesson. Honor all those who have fought and died for your right to have a voice in your government.
Stop making excuses for the fact that you are just too lazy.

One drop of water doesn't matter, but hundreds of drops, thousands of drops, millions of drops, makes for a flood.
