After listening to this years political ads should we pass a law that in the future politicians can only speak about themselves and what they are going to do in office? I think the reason we elect so many bozo's is because no one campaigns for themselves anymore, they just campaign against the other guy.

It'd be nice if it worked that way. The whole "attack ad" thing is just insane.

I found a Voter's Guide put together by the League of Women Voters that had compiled the responses by all candidates to a set of questions. I found that very useful, because the candidates were forced to talk about what they WOULD do, versus what the other guy WOULDN'T do.

It was mind-boggling to me that there were actually candidates who didn't send in a response to the survey, so were listed as "No reply received". I'm sorry, but if you "can't be bothered" or "can't get around" to answer 3-4 questions of 100 words or less to inform the voters on your position, WHY should I vote for you??

Good idea; we have too many people voting against someone rather than FOR someone

AGREED! Get it on the 2008 ballot and I will definately vote for it!
