Garr, grrrr, grunt grunt, grrrrrrrrrr gar dur, dur dur. That included how to hunt a triceratops and a wap on the head to one of the little hairy kids that was picking his nose and not sharing with the rest of the class. Then it was 'clean each other's fur and eat the bugs' time. They ended up with a nice brutal brawl and a couple dead corpses to chew on.
I dont think they were evolved enough to really teach anything other than that.

You got some funny answers, but I don't think they're all serious. In reality the idea of "history" as something you learn is a pretty new idea. One doesn't have to look farther back than a few hundred years to see history as merely chronologies compiled by priests, monks, and other clergy. It wasn't until guys like von Ranke came onto the scene in 19th century German universities (which ceased to be drunken frat houses and more like academic institutions forthwith) that the idea of history as we know it thought of. You can find a lot more information on how the idea of history came about by reading about historicism. Try wikipededia, it usually has the answer.
Good luck!

If this is a serious question the answer is the priests or leaders as oral traditions explaining things through memory until the written word.

Well..my guess would be that after a day of hunting and pillaging other tribes..the Elders sat around the final fires of the day and told stories told to them by their Elders. Sounds kind of nice to me since we have lost that kind of contact with our own families and neighbors.

history repeats its self... like the sun will come up tomorrow and the moon will change as will the seasons.... that historical reference is what is used for survival.
