I thought you were referring to the "Fight for the panda campaign" a silly idea to return the police panda cars to our roads. Remember them ? Little Ford Anglia's` painted `duck-egg`blue with a vertical white central stripe and the little blue flashing light on the roof.They replaced the area policeman on his pedal cycle, in the sixties, and there was public outcry, because the police spent their time sitting in their pandas instead of chasing criminals.It was supposed to be community police-ing at its` best,but did not always work out that way.Also I think that these policemen did eat bamboo. You can buy baby bamboo shoots in tins, actually they are quite tasty.

my friend a copper well he was,nt really my friend cause he was a copper he was more like my paymaster .he used to pay me for grassing .And one day I saw this Chap nicking Bamboo shoots from the local Garden Centre So I got on the Blower told the Copper what I had just seen So the copper came over to the Garden Centre in his Pander car and arrested This bamboo knicker .This coppers name was yes you've got it PC Pander.Pc pander took the nicker down to the Nick .When he asked this nicker his Name it was Ifite Pander He was from Asia. He told Pc Pander that He was going to fight the pander in the local zoo. For the nicked bamboo shoots.Has he recognised it was a pander that he had lost to has a kid.When he lived in Asia Mongolia and it had won him.So this Knicker Ifite pander .was told that he was not allowed to fight And to be cruel to this Pander And must Let it Winn the Fight .other wise the animal rights people led by another Mr Pander would execute him So the Ifite the Aisian Mongolian .Went to face this Pander Supervised By Pc Pander .And the pander would not fight.Cause it had gone off eating bamboo. And it had just ate a person from off the yahoo web Answer site. My name is Porky Pander .and The knicker nicked off the PC PANDER drove off in his pander And the Pander Died the next day of Indigestion
