so I say yes... this is great.. year every for every holiday I would cook... so I take her up on her invitation.. she just told me she bakes the turkey all night til 10 am.. takes the turkey out ... has dinner 2pm.. I have cooked many of turkeys ... have you ever heard of something so bizarre before? I am getting hesitant... What should Ido...

Yes, this is an old fashioned slow cooking technique and it causes a very tasty bird. BTW it is finished at about 1:00 so the 2:00 serving time allows the bird to rest for carving. Don't worry this is a common method from the west/mid west. Very tasty bird-you will love it.

I don't like the idea of the turkey sitting for 4 hours before dinner...ick. I might make other plans.

Hmmm, that is a very strange method. I think that the turkey would be very overcooked and dry. Or she may be using a dangerous method of cooking at a very low temp which allows bacteria to grow and you could get very sick. Also a turkey should not sit out from 10AM to 2 PM. I think I would refuse the invitiation.

My mom does it every year! We are all still alive!!! lol I used to worry about it too! But since I havent gotten sick i don't worry anymore!

I WOULD SUGGEST YOU GO ON OVER AND CHOW DOWN ON SOME GOOD GRUB AND BE SURE THAT YOU THINK THE HOST AND TAKE HER A NICE GIFT FOR HAVING YOUR QUEZZIE A** OVER.

i dont get your question i cook mine on low all night as well it makes it more juicey and tender i dont see the problem so give more details if this dont answer your question
