In my spare time I test on my backup computer all antispyware/antivirus programs to see if the perform as claimed And especially to see which one have embedded trojans/adware either in their program or in the wizard installer used to guide you through the installation.
What is rate as 1-2-3-4-5 is not always the best. Especially when you can find free programs that are light years ahead in technology over the purchased.
In my computer I use the following free programs.
For antivirus you can only use one or you will have serious conflict with your system. You can use three or four antispyware without any conflict.
http://www.ewido.net This company was out of Germany and has since been purchased by AVG. Now the name is AVG antispyware. Still the same program with excellent technolgoy. When you download the program it will come with all functions an if you don't purchase in thirty days they will just remove the background scanner and the auto updates. You will update on a manual basis. Scans all 195,000 objects in my system.
http://www.emsisoft.com This company is out of Austria. Almost the same as the new AVG. A2Squared free version download. They will ask you for you email address so they can send you a key that is good for life. You will get any new free version with the same key. Plus has rootkit protection and rogue dialer protection. (I have ADSL, but use for the added protection).
Always reboot after the removal of a virus or spyware is cleaned.

Try booting in Safe Mode, then run Ad-Aware SE Personal. Then scan again, selecting the 'search for ads' option. Some of your programs may stop working afterwards but if thats the case you can re-install the ads from quarantine.
Plus you can use the 'quick scan' option a couple of times a day. It only takes a minute.
Also, use Ccleaner.
Before attempting to remove malware you must switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios
screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.
You need all three anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware
http://www.avast.com - Avast Antivirus also prevents some Trojans.
http://www.zonelabs.com Zone Alarm firewall will prevent malware dialling out.
http://www.ccleaner.com Cr*pcleaner Registry cleaner and privacy tool

I had the same problem and found the only way I could resolve it, after a long and extremely irritating and drawn out process, was to reformat. I'm glad you asked this question though.
The answers other people offer will hopefully offer better solutions.

Use at least 2 forms of malware removal software. Good examples are adaware (SE personal) and spybot, both of which are free. Also make sure your anti-virues definition is up to date and run a full scan.

Go to www.spybot.com and download the
"SpyBot Search & Destroy" program. (It's free)
Install it, then get all of the available updates.
Power down your computer, unplug your Internet or
network connection and power the machine back on.
While it's starting up, contunually press the "F8" key until you get a boot menu.
Use your arrow keys to select the "Boot in Safe Mode" option
(NOT with network support)
Once it has started in safe mode, run SpyBot Search & Destroy and see what you get.
Good Luck!

Hi, go to your control panel, then look for add/remove programs.
You should be able to remove it from there. If still problems then take it to a dealer who knows how to remove permanently.
Good Luck!!
