Yes, it makes your skin soft. I used to have terrible dermatitis flare ups and oatmeal was very soothing. I would say it does NOT cause breakouts. I would chop the oatmeal very fine with a food chopper or processor then mix with warm water until it made a paste then apply and let dry almost completely. It is gross to wash off- and if you use too much it can clog the drain! But your skin will feel great afterwards. This also works on dry winter skin. Add to your bath or apply the paste while in the bath or shower. And clean the drain afterwards!!!

I have a skin condition called exema and taking a bath in oatmeal does help to soothe the itching. However, I wouldnt recomend scrubbing your face with oatmeal. Just use a regular facial cleanser followed by a good moisturizer and youll be fine!

It makes your skin somewhat softer... I'm not sure on the breakout part. Aveeno has some oatmeal stuff I think.

Well I believe that it makes your skin soft. I don't think that it will cause breakouts. Just wash your face after wards.

I have never tried, but I don't recommend that. Instead, try using the oatmeal scrub from Collective Wellbeing. Basically, it is all natural and kept my face clean and clear.

You can also use it as a mild facial scrub, it is not "sharp" enough to do harm but is "rough" enough to slough off dead skin cells - a bit like an incredibly cheap version of those "apricot stone scrubs"

yea it does work and it should not make you break out. It does make your skin softer ive done it before. ive found that making a mask with ground up outmeal and honey makes your skin even softer, you use it as a mask.

Yes and No. Oatmeal does work but making it yourself does not.Their are products that contain oatmeal so you don't have to make "paste". (:
