well gee, then the poor would get even poorer, right?
I don't get why your question is directed at Republicans.
I pay a shitload of taxes, and i'm lower middle class, as well as self employed which means i pay more taxes.

If everyone paid the same AMOUNT of tax, and that AMOUNT was set based on what the poorest of us could afford, then no one would pay any tax at all. The amount of TAX I pay is more than the annual wage of some people.
The average tax paid by a person in America is around $8,000. For a family of 4, that would be $32,000. Some families of 4 don't EARN $32,000. So, should they send the government every penny they make? Is that what you consider fair?
FAIR would be everyone paying the same PERCENTAGE of tax. Not the same AMOUNT.

i am an Independent or Libertarian and I think the only fair way is the Fair Tax Plan http://www.fairtaxplan.org/ BY FAR- the most cut and dry plan the rewards spending (i.e better economy set up by PEOPLE not government).

Because I'm sick of people that choose career paths with majors that can't afford the luxuries that they want telling me I owe them something. I chose a career path because I knew it would provide me and the family I hoped to have at that time with a stable and sufficient source of income. I hate to tell you, but the middle class is the group that ultimately pays for the leeches of society.

Flat tax idea is great, I think. That would decrease taxes on most people in the country. People would have more spendable income and in turn buy more goods, further stimulating the economy.

The flat tax is a viable alternative. Steve Forbes had a proposal for a flat tax that looked very good.
The first thing is to cut back government to a realistic scale and then determine how much is needed. The government is too big and out of control with too many programs that are not necessary. Cut that fat out and then see how much is really needed.

I believe in The Fair Tax. If you want to buy HD TV's and Escalades, pay the tax percent on what you buy. If you get your TV at Walmart and buy a Saturn pay the tax percent on that.

Poor people would bi*ch. Here's another idea, lets all make the same amount no matter what our jobs are too, then we can all live in peace and happiness, oh wait isn't that Communism. Maybe you should just move to North Korea instead.
