When I was a teenager, I worked at Hardee's and since I was a supervisor, I saw the price list for all the items the store purchased. Now I know it's not the same as McD's, they probably get their's cheaper because they buy a larger bulk, but Hardee's paid about $8 for a 15 lb bag of fries. That was supposed to make apporoximately 60 small orders of fries. Considering it cost $1 for a small fry, they made about $52 off that 15 lb bag of fries. Think about how many bags of fries they go thru in a day....

This was over 10 years ago, and I'm sure with inflation the numbers are higher, but it works out that they probably make about $60 off every bag of fries they purchase for $10 or less.

Most places that i know of a small order of fries costs the consumer about a dollar. I think they make a profit of about 50 cents or more.

enough to keep selling them obviously, but who buys Just an order of fries? Probably most people spend at least $5 on each meal and McD's probably makes $4.25 profit...
