If our culture and our government policies are so offensive to Muslims, why do they insist on living here?

Sherzade well said. The Government with its PC mates have done more damage to race relations than the BNP ever could. I agree most of the Blair policies I find totally offensive to Christians as well as Muslims. It is not the Muslim who wants to stop our Christmas its the pathetic PC / government meddling idiots. Not all Muslims find our culture offensive. In terms of who is to blame for Muslims living here its governments. If you thought you would get a better life and a country government would welcome you what would you do?

You’ve been listening to people who do not know what they are talking about. First, most Muslims do not hate us at all (at least not until Bush murders some member of their family) and, second, not even all terrorist hate our culture, declining freedoms, or whatever (because mostly they do not care about it at all).

We are hated for our foreign policy that rips them off, lies to them, treats them as less than human, and always sides with Israel, no matter what it does. We tell Iraqis we are there to help them, but we make their lives worse than it was even under Hussein. We promise the Afghans that we will not turn our backs on them like we did the last time we messed around in their country (training Bin-Laden, among others), and then we immediately turn our backs on them again. In short, they hate us because they have reason to.

If someone was born here, grew up here and now participate in society fully then they are entitled to take issue with the government just as much as I am.

HOWEVER...

A) If you come here from another country, you have no right to moan about our way of life.

B) If you choose to be a muslim in the UK then you must accept that this is a Christian country and that is how we will live our lives. We will not live according to Islam, so shut up and get over it.

By the way I happen to think that all religion is ridciulous, christianity included, but that's what this country was built on and that's how it should stay.

i think you need to accept the fact that things have changed. i am a muslim, and consider myself as english or british as anyone i have met.
i dont blame you for your ignorance, but i certainly pitty you. i was born here and my father before me, yet you are implying that i should leave if i find something OUR government does offensive.

what do you think when you see a muslim? although i think i have a pretty solid idea already. if you actualy want to empathise in any form; or enlighten yourself then i suggest that you read some post-colonial literature like the buddha of suburbia or zadie smith's white teeth.

Probably bcoz their parents are settled there...Also bcoz every day 400 -500 AMERICANS themselves convert to Muslims...Where do u think they should go??
