its not about the political party but the ppl and in both parties there are good and bad and we should consistantly seek out the good no matter the party affliation.

Whoah, are you trying to state obvious rightous comments on this thing. You do know a buch of people with bad opinions will answer. But its nice to see someone with an understanding of how things are.

Yes! No one person totally embodies everything that a party stands for. (and they should not) Let the people be who they are before your vote them in to office, and then they should not have to lie to you as often.

To answer your question, people vote for the party rather than the candidates because the party has gotten their trust and only selects people that it thinks are worthy of running (can be easily controlled/Influenced) To run and be independent they would have to have a large fortune saved to get their name out there and then they would have two armies against them, meaning little or no hope for victory.

I agree that you should always seek out the good ones. But at the same time I dont want to vote for a good person with different view points than me. But I also dot want to vote for a bad person with the same view points either. I usually dont even vote because, there is no one worth voting for.

I disagree. Democrats tend to ostracize those in their party who dissent. Look at what happened to Lieberman. There is no room for compromise, they only want the leftwing extremists to have a say.
