A solid character will allow the candidate to stand for what he/she believes in and listens to the needs of his/her constituents.
Standing on the issues and agenda can be done by anyone. Think about this, what are the topics you hear EVERY ELECTION - I will lower health care costs, taxes, welfare roles, unemployment, governmental wasteful spending....you get the idea. Too many people are corrupt and have support groups with a lot of money funding their interests, not what is best for the people.
If a normal company ran like the government, Washington DC would be having a fire sale

I would like to think that they go hand in hand. If a candidate has solid character and good morals, where he/she stands on the issues should reflect that.

Tough to say...If you don't have the character to vote the way on issues that you campaign on, then it doesn't really matter how you feel about the issues.

Character dictates policy. We have nothing but seedy untrustworthy individuals holding office as of late and look where the country is headed. Character above all.

They go hand in hand, fi they have stances on issues you agree with, it only matters if they are of high character to follow through.
