Normally, no.
This process was forced onto all cellular service providers a few years ago. The process is called "porting" - you want to port your old number to the new phone.
However, this only works if all the following requirements are met:
1) You still have that number on an active account in your name with the original company.
2) You have not ported the number previously.
3) If you do not have the number currently active, *some* companies will hold it for you for approx. 2 months. Good luck in getting that to happen, though.
This proces uses MDN's and MIN's.
The MDN is your phone number, Mobile Dialed Number
The MIN is the actual number that is in the switch for the system to route your call to your phone. Mobile Identification Number.
Normally, you start out with both the MDN and MIN matching.
If you port your number, your MDN will not change, only the MIN number changes. This allows people to continue to call you on the old number but the computer system knows where to send the call now that you're with another company.
But this post really doesn't have anything to do with relationships, does it?

The remark approximately your mom's behaviour is going to 'make' you abuse your freedom once you pass to college is a demonstration that according to danger you're imature and your mom is right to be over shielding. you recognize what you say, yet you think of that's okay to declare. It does sound like your mom is being over shielding, regardless of the shown fact that, you isn't in her homestead lots longer (2 years is a watch blink) and you ought to spend a while questioning approximately all that your mom does for you. Be appreciative of her and paintings at letting the resentment pass. She of course cares approximately you. Do you have a job or some way which you're earning a number of your spending money? Do you help around the homestead without being asked? you're sufficiently old to comprehend what desires to be achieved. i think of maximum cases sixteen 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds don't comprehend how lots their dad and mom paintings. What you ought to do is initiate making a listing of the failings your mom does for the relatives and for you each and on a daily basis without every person asking, i comprehend you may have something on that checklist. think of roughly it. you're at an age which you would be able to act so clueless with regard to the realities of existence. possibly you ought to ask your mom to assist you to 'be her' for sooner or later and spot what type of day you have. it would make you lots greater understanding.

It is possible for you too still use your number if the number was still active on your account. If it wasnt active then there is nothing that you can do to keep the same number.

Depends upon how long ago you stopped using the last phone.
If you haven't used it in a while the cell company will reassign the # to someone else, but if you stopped using it recently you should be able to retain your #.
