I had a pap smear on Thursday of last week.Last evening I started spotting--and it has gotten heavy every day after that. I am on the borth control pill--so I know when my period is coming.-No I havent missed any pills-and I am not pregnant.
Is bleeding that long after a pap-normal? What could be some of the reasons for bleeding?

Some spotting is normal, but heavy bleeding is not normal. You should call your doctor.

extra suitable than in all probability your physician aggitated(SP?) your cervix during the PAP Smear. They take the pattern by potential of scraping the cervix with a super q-tip. when I even have my pap smear at approximately 11 weeks I had some easy bleeding afterwards and each thing replaced into ok. If it somewhat concerns you call and talk with the nurses that's what they're there for. better of success to you

Usually you only spot right after you have a pap smear. It could be possible that it is from this. Maybe you are getting your period. Sometimes nerves could cause this. I wouldn't worry too much just wear a panty liner. Good luck

I would call my OB if I were you. I've spotted before after one but not more than 24 hrs.
