Hi, I'm British and just wondering if anyone could tell me what the outcome was for the midterm elections. Did the Democrats gain the House and the Senate? Or has Bush still got the full ability to destroy the world?

to answer your question ther democrate won controle of the U.S house of respesentative and well are leaning toward controle of the U.S senate and as far as the U.S governatorl elections go wel it was mainly a democratic sweep. what this mean is that with the democrate in the house and well may be the senate , president bush will have a hard time getting most of his way when it comes to his policies forgin and domestic. This election also is a predictor of whats to come in 2008 the United States Presidental elctions. with the States houses in most local(states) races going to the democratic party , the rebublicans will have alot of rethinking some of their policieys . sdince Bush Can't Run No More. For most of Europe i guess that a good sing for you. the Republican Party in other words will have a hard time getting a republican president in 2008

The polls are still open. There will be no results for a few hours. There are 4 time zoned in the US. Eastern is the latest one. Type world time clock into your browser to calculate the time differences. Polls here close in 5 hours (7 PM) and then the votes have to be tabulated.

We have roughly 10 more hours to go for all results to be in. The first precincts haven't even been announced yet, that will be in about 5 hours from now.

And Bush destroy the world? Man, you give him a lot of credit.

All the Democrats won! Yay!

Actually, don't know yet. Some races may get called right away; others, if they're close, may have to go to a recount to decide. We could know how the balance of power is tipping by tonight, or it could be a few days. Stay tuned.
