Younger people are idealistic about how the world should be. As people gain experience, they tend to be realistic, and therefore more conservative.

Ridiculous ,for one, many elderly people become very liberal thinkers and wish they had lived a different life. It is people in there child rearing stage that have all these conservative views . They did drugs fooled around a lot or as much as they could they boomed on a test or two dropped out of college or high school and see the world for what it is . You can not be an honest open pot smoker and still be a judge in a court of law .
You can smoke pot and be a judge but no one must no of this . or very few .
Conservatives should be replaced with control freaks . every where you see conservatives written replace it with control freaks and you can better understand the mind set of these people .

Actually, Winston Churchill never said this at all. Churchill was a conservative at 15 and a liberal at 35.
