or should I worry?

Also, when she's sitting in her high chair, she's always leaning to one side... why? Do you think there's something wrong with her? How can I get her to sit up?

Thanks!

First of all, each child is different, and any book you read is gonna tell you that. If you haven't already I would speak to her doctor about it. Its possible that there might be something medical going on, but most likely its just her taking her time about it lol. Both of my kids sat up on there own at different ages so don't worry, she'll surprise you one day and be sitting up grinning from ear to ear at you! Good luck!

Any concerns like these should be expressed to your health visitor, who can observe your child for a while and tell you if there is a problem, but it sounds normal to me. Support your baby with cushions in her high chair and whilst she is learning to sit up outside of her chair, again, I recommend support with cushions. At this age, children are learning to do so many things each day, that by the end of next week, she may be doing exactly what you are worrying about her not doing now. Please don't get too worried!

Sitting is a 9-month milestone (most kids sit by 9 months, some perfectly normal children sit later). If she leans to one side, it might be better to wait a while with the chair.

Typically, when a baby is 6 months old, they start sitting up on their own. My daughter did start around 6 months, however, she would list over or fall back. She wasn't quite stable. I would sit her on the floor and put my boppy around her so she wouldn't fall back on her head. You can try that, give her some support and in the high chair, try to prop her up with pillows. They are wobbly at first, but believe me, they get steadier and steadier, my baby is 16 months old and pratically running!

in case your physician suggested it somewhat is no longer a difficulty i might have faith the physician. as quickly as a infant is cellular there is not any turning returned. She probable can take a seat yet does not take a seat because of the fact she desires to crawl. toddlers in no way do as they're expected. the two considered one of my daughters have been working at 10 months previous - my youngest RAN faraway from me in an airport a splash after she grew to become 10 months YAY mom of the twelve months 2d ideal there lol - they in no way crawled. do no longer difficulty - the norm isn't the norm anymore. Now you only have a good looking infant tale to tell different mothers and your daughter while she's older. I have been given a kick out of it!

Don't worry children all take time....
when i was a baby my mother told me i was walking and talking a few words by the age of nine months...
My daughter however took until nine months to learn how to crawl don't scare yourself....
Alot of parents i know especially first time parents are easily spooked don't be your child is fine and will probably surge forward when she is ready don't worry and relax...
you think you have trouble now wait until the terrible twos kick in jebus that's a trying time and it keeps going into the six's sometimes....
just enjoy the simpler times while you can....

I'm not sure about her leaning to one side, but its nothing to be about that she's not sitting up yet.

My baby didn't sit up on his own until he was 7 months. He is now nine months, and is walking! My point is, their mobile activities will explode once they realize they can/want to do it. Just cherish your days that are left with a non-mobile baby.

You would want to give her some time. Kids usually gain full head and neck support on their own between 6 to 8 months of age. Looks like she's almost there...just wait a while :)

It's perfectly normal! All infants are different when it comes to things like sitting, crawling, walking, etc. They all do it on their own time and it's perfectly normal.

The reason she leans to one side when she is sitting in her highchair is probably because she doesn't have the balance thing down yet. Babies at that age can't balance themselves so they tend to lean from side to side or front to back sometimes.

No there's nothing wrong with her. At 6 months she is just starting to really develop her muscles to be strong enough to hold herself up. Be patient. You can't "get her" to do anything before she's ready to. You CAN however, make sure she's excercising. I hear Jolly Jumpers and Excersaucers are great toys for helping baby to develop her muscles.
