I have been sober and holding a steady job for 3 months, I want unsupervised visits with my 7 week old son....would judge allow it if I have no car, live with my mother whom smokes and has a restraining order against the mother of my child (my mom is nuts not my wife long story), My wife refuses to let me leve with our baby, she has alot of police reports to give to the judge to show my instability but for 3 month I have been clean. She is bipolar but stable for 2 years and is in school making A's. will the judge let me take my child? I dont want an attorney but I have not seen my child n a month because I refuse to visit under supervision.

visit under supervision. don't let your pride get in the way of seeing your baby. You are the saddest thing i have seen today, what is wrong with you? you've only been sober for three months! that's an accomplishment, yes, and you should be proud of yourself, but no one in their right mind would trust you with a child just yet. take what you can get until you can earn the rest. and denying seeing your baby because it is not under your terms is just plain selfish. If you can't see that you have hurt people and they need more than three months to see that you have changed and are willing to make amends, then maybe you shouldn't see that baby. Because you haven't changed. You aren't willing to make amends. Gods in heaven, man. Grow up. this is about what is best for your baby, and i seriously doubt anyone can blame your ex for thinking that you aren't necessarily it right now. give it time and show her you can take care of the baby. then, eventually, when the dust settles and things begin to clear for the both of you. you can take the baby over night every once in a while. good luck with the sobriety. you're doing well so far. keep at it.

See you child anyway you can. It has only been 3 months and i would not feel comfortable letting you take the child alone either. The only one you are hurting right now is your child by being stubborn and refusing supervised visitation. It could be worse and you could have been granted NO visitation. This is all part of your sobriety. You can petition the courts in a few more months to change it if you remain sober. See the kid no matter what!!

You should bite the bullet, be a man, step up to the plate and TAKE THE SUPERVISED VISITS!!!! You should be sober for a year and be able to prove it with blood and urine tests to back it up. Your child should not be used as a pawn. Your wife seems to have proven that she can care for your baby by being stable for 2 years and getting A's in school. Please think of them and don't add unwanted pressure to what she is already dealing with, raising a baby on your own is HARD WORK!! most likely all you will get if anything at all is supervised visits you definitely wont get unsupervised visits that I'm almost sure of but they don't have to be supervised with the child's mother it can be a social worker of some sort don't refuse to visit under supervision take what you can get at least you will be able to see your child who cares who is supervising it

You don't sound like someone I would leave my baby with unsupervised. You need supervised visits until you can be found to be responsible and trustworthy enough to take care of a child without it.

I really do not know because you refusing to visit under supervision is making you look even more like a bad parent. Makes it seem like you don't care about the child enough to go see him.

You really need to start with the supervised visits to show the court that you are doing what they asked. After a few visits and you keep up with any support that they ask then you should have a case. Congrats on being sober!!!

You may be able to have supervised vistits with a social worker, it sounds like you both need some help, it not a real healthy envirorment for a child to be brought up into.

you probably need a lawyer but my guess is if you continue on the road to sobriety eventually you will get unsupervised visits. good luck and keep it up.
