Exponents come first unless you have something like (3-4)^2 then the subtraction would come first.

Next comes multiplication and division.

Then addition subtraction.

Everything inside parentheses takes precedence over these rules though but are governed by these rules as well.

brackets (), exponents, multiplication or division, addition or subtraction. I want to clear this up for multiplication and division you do whichever one comes first. The same thing happens for addition and subtraction.
