if you mean industrial, ... mine the nickel, it is usually found in ore form, and dissolve it in sulphric acid or hydrochloric acid.
Ni + H2SO4 = NiSO4 + H2
or

Ni + 2HCl = NiCl2 + H2

Treat Ni shavings with H2SO4 for NiSO4 and with HCl for NiCl2.
