My mother is a Democrat and votes straight ticket. I used to until I bought a house and started paying property tax . That is when I saw there were other issues that needed to be looked at.
I am still a registered Democrat but I associate more with the Libertarian party. But with the dearth of Libertarian candidates I usually end up picking the conservative candidate, this year I split my ticket all over the place.

I have the same political leanings as my mom. We both vote Democrat. I'm not sure about my dad but I get the feeling he votes more conservatively. He did marry a Catholic woman so she probably does too.

My parents both went to Berkeley in the 60s ... so it would be hard not to share their ideals after hearing of the repression in the 50s ... The House on UnAmerican Activities Committee, the Red Scare and such.
The same repression that is in place today with DHS and Domestic spying.
MAJOR MAJOR left wing Democrat.

Yes. I am Democrat and both my mother and father are Democrats. However, all four of my grandparents are Republican. Family does have a part in your party affiliation when you are first voting, but you end up making your own decisions. I have voted independently for 8 years now, and don't listen when my parents say "vote for him because he's a democrat" or "don't vote for him because of this". I make my own decisions. And yes, I voted Democrat today - for everything except my incumbant Republican governor, who is from my home town and one of the best we've had in 50 years.

ROFLMAO sorry that is funny to me... my Mom usually votes opposite of Dad so they cancel each other out... my Dad has hung up on me before for not agreeing to vote the same as him, so I would have to say No. I think its because my father is a retired cop and im more of a free spirit...
Have a GREAT day!

i replaced into thoroughly opposite politically from my mum and dad yet my infants are the comparable as me. My mum and dad (and maximum older human beings i understand in maximum cases) basically vote(d) the celebration line yet I and my infants are greater in touch in politics then they ever have been.
