alright i dont know why people think playing a certain instrument controls a persons status.If you like the clarinet go with it.If your friends think it nerdy,rub it in their faces if you get famous

Playing the clarinet is very cool. I used to be in band while atending elementary school. In 6th grade i played the trumpet, the flute in 7th, and the clarinet in 8th. Of all 3 instruments, the clarinet was my favorite. You will always get diffent reactions from people when you play an instrument. Some think you are a nerd because you have a talent they are jealous of. You will also receive encouragements from people who know how difficult it is to play an instrument. If you enjoy playing the clarinet, go ahead and keep it up.

It depends on the music and the style of playing. A really cool rendition of "Rhapsody in Blue" could be considered cool but the average player is still going to look nerdy. Since you ask in the plural, I think playing more than one clarinet at time is a little bizarre.

It's waaaayy cool! It's almost as cool as the saxophone. Don't worry about looking nerdy. You can join a cool cat jazz band, and that IS very cool. Maybe you could learn a few of the instruments as well. And never be ashamed for being able to do something that not everyone can do, especially something that you can get really good at, and something that can open lots of doors for you in the future.

I play the clarinet! If you are in band it is nerdy, but if you play it for your enjoyment and become a professional at it that is really cool!! Playing the clarinet is really tricky but a very neat instrument because of its ranges.

yeah, I agree with creolegirl, if it's what you want to do, and you think it's cool, than it's cool. it's totally all your opinion. I personally don't think it's nerdy at all. any and all insturments are awsome. music is awsome. good luck!
