The same could be said of 'true believers' of many faiths. For instance, promiscuous sex is certainly not espoused by any of the main Christian sects, quite the opposite. A true Christian would abstain from sex until marriage then remain faithful to their partner for life.
Another point is that it is often it is not the practices of minorities that people object to it is the fact that it is a minority that is doing it. To clarify:
If you said that a Muslim person of an ethnic minority didn't go to pubs because he didn't believe in drinking, many would criticise them for not trying to integrate, they would say have a soft drink etc.
However, if a white Evangelical Christian who could trace back their ancestry to Alfred the Great said the exact same thing there would far less protest and especially the point about fitting in, integration and British values etc would not be made.
So the problem is often not the message it's the messenger.

I would think any religion would have a hard time integrating into a culture that has many worse evils than drinking and sex.
Lying, cheating, and stealing by any citizen would be a barrier. Disregard of those suffering from poverty and illness would not be qualities I would yearn for in a neighbor.

LOL... It only solution therefore will be for these people to migrate to a country that is sympathetic to their cultures. Here in America people of the Muslim culture have made a real attempt to integrate and are NOT ALLOWED to force their warped religious views on anyone else. I say warped because all religions are exactly that and people who subscribe to them are sheep of the worst kind.

Against their religion, but how do you know they abstain?
The English culture is much more than that. I'm sure Muslims have an abundance of culture to absorb, if they want to. Muslims are part of the English culture anyway, having lived there for generations already.

I'll tell you a wee story and see what you think.
I was in my local shop buying the newspaper when I thought I would ask the guy behind the counter why he didnt shut on Friday like the other close by Muslim shops.
He told me that even though he was a Muslim he didnt want to be a hypocrite like those guys who go to the Mosque and then go out boozing and taking drugs.
So in answer to your question I think Muslims born and raised here are just as likely to do things that the majority get up to.
In 20 years there wont be as much a diference as there is now.
Unless they dont stop all the damn aslyum seekers coming in ;)

LOL.
For the Northerners you may also include the cultural delicacies such as black pudding and pork scratchings.
Maybe you should try to convert the Chavs to Islam?
Or help promote atheism so we can all join together in a multicultural orgy of binge drinking, sex, black pudding and pork scratchings. Hmmm..... that's my weekend sorted then!

The vast majority of people don't binge drink or do drugs. So, don't provide anyone with an excuse. Because that's all it would be.

It seems that the vast majority of young people in the UK do like the pub/club scene. I am not in to that kind of thing and I have felt Isolated in the past because of this. We just have to work that bit harder to meet people who enjoy the things that we enjoy. Nothing we can do about it, you don't hear us complaining do you.

No they will never be part of British culture as they want to retain their own culture.
But if we don't watch out they will out breed us and take over the Britain and the rest of the west.
My grandfather used to think that Enoch Powell had the right attitude towards them, and I think that Enoch Powell is now being proved correct about his presumptions
