I am going to buy one for my son and I am wondering what else we need, e.g. chargers, cases, etc. I was on eBay and there are these 12 piece accessory kits, etc. Are these really necessary or should I just buy the unit and a few games to go with it? We live outside the US right now so I have to get everything at one time. We travel a lot and I need sufficient battery life to get us through the flights, airport transfers, etc. (4-6 hours or more would be great).

The game comes with a wall plug so you can plug it into the wall and play if he wants to roam around with it then yes a charger is needed.If he has a Nintendo Gamecube there is a link cable for the gamecube that goes into your SP so you can play some games on your gameboy as Animal Crossing and some others.As far as game it all depends on what he likes.The SP comes with a light built into it unlike the regular bigger GBA so you do not need to buy a backlight for it to show in color.any other questions you can feel free to email me through here

The battery in the GB sp lasts for 18 hrs...The head phones could be handy if you don't want to listen to your son play but not necessary...And a case to carry everything They have these cool backpack style ones... Brand new they come with a wall charger, but if you travel a lot a car charger could be useful....otherwise just buy him the GB and some games ...hope this helps

The only thing you really need is a portable charger and a carrying case to hold the unit and about 3 or 4 games.
