I have lowered my standards for ironing and have become wrinkle tolerent, but I still end up with a certain amount of clothes that are unwearable without a little pressing. So can anyone help me sanely get through the big, tilted pile on my board right now?

I enjoy ironing it gives me time to think. I doubt that I can make it fun if you really don't like it though. If you still have some clothes that are in need of light pressing you can hang them up in the bathroom and when you shower the steam will release the wrinkles. If they are really wrinkly soak a washcloth and toss in dryer with those clothes and dry on high this too will release the wrinkles. Any other things that really need ironing can be rewashed and dried, removing them from the dryer when they are done also helps stop the wrinkles. If you have done these things and still have wrinkles then make sure you have all the things you need to iron handy. You will need starch, spray bottle of water, and a damp washcloth (for any soap marks or lint leavings. I hope that I have been able to help you at least a little bit. Like I said before I like to iron.

wet a washcloth. Put it in the dryer with the wrinkled clothes for about 5 minutes. Hang up immediately. I never iron. I just use the dryer. Call me lazy, but I'd rather go do something fun than sit there and iron. Either that or hire a 12 year old. They love to iron especially if you give them a few bucks.

Just turn on some tunes and make a mental game of it. Just think about how fantastic you will look after everything has been ironed! That will give you some motivation to get the job done in a good fashion. Otherwise, you could make a deal with yourself, whereby if you fishing the ironing then you will treat yourself to something you really enjoy (i.e. movie, dinner, whatever). Good luck, and have fun ironing!

I also have a huge pile to iron. So I iron in front of the TV, but tell myself I will only iron ____ pieces and then stop. That way I have a short goal in front of me instead of the whole pile.

sing while you iron. or watch tv. or call and talk to a friend. if you iron fewer things as needed instead of putting it all off, there'll be less to work on and you wouldn't really have to worry about how boring it is or how much work goes into it.

I don't really care fo it either - so I do lots at one time and in front of the TV - that lets me watch shows and work at the same time.
