I have dance for now 11 years and I have always heard different things. Dance is sport. Dance is an art form. I'm not talking hip-hop, break, or popping. I'm talking about true dancing. On en pointe, lyrical, and tapping. Competing against the other studios to win the platiumun trophy.

It isn't going to make a difference if it is or not, because I won't stop dancing, its the only reason I'm still alive. I just simply want to know what you would consider it. I personally consider it an art form of pure strength and emotions. You'd be surprised how much strength you need to be a professional dancer.

Definitely an art form. You could try to call it a sport, but you'd have to use a loose definition of the word. If you have judges, it's at least as much of a sport as figure skating. (No disrespect for the physical requirements to be a dancer or skater, we are just talking about what you call it!)

I have trouble calling anything that is judged subjectively a sport, especially if the code of points used to score it may cause two competent judges to score it differently. You'd know better than I if dancing falls into that category or not.

That is another question that you asked, notice any similarities???? Why bother asking it twice if you have good answers on both, and furthermore on the ohter one, someone gave you a link to other questions like this one, with more answers. You are just using up space and wasting peoples time

It is an artform IMO. Even though dancing, ice-skating, etc require a lot of athletic ability, the judging of the competition is highly subjective. Sports have a scoring system based on the achievement of tangible goals.
