Ok...

parallel lines have the same slope, so a line parallel to y = 3x - 4 would have a slope of 3 (y = mx + b is slope intercept form of an equation, where m = slope, so m=3 in this equation).

Slope is rise / run, or change in y divided by change in x... so a slope of 3 means that for every 1 change in x, there is a change of 3 in y.

To make the equation, we need to know where the y-intercept is (i.e. when x = 0), which is b in the equation. Right now we have y = 3x + b, so we need to solve for b.

So let's put our y and x from the given point in!

-4 = 3(2) + b (y = -4 and x =2)
-4 = 6 + b
-10 = b

So now we just put it all together!

y = 3x - 10

And there you have it!

I hope this helps!

properly the slope would be 2. and utilising factor-slope form (y - y a million = m(x - x a million ) you will get y+2=2(x-6) y+2=2x-12 y=2x-14 Then do an identical for the subsequent 3. merely plug interior the factors. y-5=a million/2(x+6) y-5= a million/2x + 3 y= a million/2x +8 y=2 by way of fact the line is horizontal (parellel to horizontal line -4) y-2=a million(x+a million) y-2=x+a million y=x+3 wish you recognize now(:

SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM: Y=Mx+B

Y=2X+-4

your y intercept is - 4 and your slope i 3 or 3/1

So you plot on the chart -4 on the y axis. Then you go up three and over one. when you go over one go positive NOT NEGATIVE ( GO TO THE RIGHT! ) You cant have a negative run! ( IN SLOPE! )

REMEMBER THAT FOR EVERY X THERE IS ONLY 1 Y~!!!!!
