kk so i live in israel and there's a debate on whether or not there should be a gay pride parade (we call it walk/march) in jerusalim..the capital.
the hasidic jews claim that it's desturbing because it's the holy city..others like me claim that it's just a march and instead of doing it in tel aviv like we usualy do, we should bring it to the capital.
i think walking in the capital will be huge! i mean..just this century gays were beaten or killed bc/well..they were gay! it happened in the united states too..and now the gays finally have their freedom of speach...symbolic speach that is...expression..they can go out and say "hey i'm gay" without having a fear of dying or getting hurt..so why not?
also the leader of the march is a hasidic lesbian..yes hasidic. she has a girlfriend and she prays 24-7. so i don't get why this is so desturbing..
well??? what do you guys think???

I think that the parade should be somewhere else. I really am concerned over the possibility of major violence. The city is holy to three religions. Perhaps the parade organisers are pushing too far this time.

Yeah, it'd be great, but some of the Jews will start to get violent. At the end of it all, when a bunch of people are in court, the Jews responsible will say that the gay pride marchers were the first ones to start the violence... which is bullshit, really, but who ever listens to the truthful people in things like this?
No offense really meant to Jews or gay pride...

keep it somewhere else. if it wasn't such a big deal to have it in jerusalem, like you say, it wouldn't be "huge" like you also say. i have news for you...gay people in the u.s. were technically always free under the same laws as everyone else. what they suffered, and still do, is ridicule and violence by some who vehemently disagree with their practices. what i'm trying to say is, a parade in jerusalem or even tel aviv probably won't peacefully and completely end the opposition of homosexuality. what do i think? i personally disagree with homosexuality but i don't believe these people should be persecuted. not at all. what kind of riles me up, though, are people that must tell people they are gay every chance they get. if i walked around telling people i was heterosexual all day long i'd probably be accused of bigotry. why? because majorities aren't granted such lenience when it comes to such things.

As long as you know it's dangerous and are willing to accept the risk, then the upside of moving the parade to a larger venue is greater than the downside. But only your group there has enough facts and other information to assess the risks correctly.

I strongly oppose this kind of pride walks. I strongly believe in humanity. But when it comes to mental illness like walks I disagree. In my opinion it should be banned completely. The marriage is a concept of one man and one woman. Toady some idiots got together and started this kind of groups. Tomorrow other sick people will form a group who will claim they they eat their food from their anus and they are proud of it. In my opinion it is a definite mental illness and should be treated as other illness without giving any benefit of mental handicapped person because it is self made illness to the community.

God destroyed Sodom and Amora for being homosexual, also Jerusalem is a holy City, it will defile all 3 religions.

Absolutely not! That type of parade is garrish & disgusting. Why do 'gays' feel the need to parade their dirty hang ups in public? Please, stay in the closet! No parade, anywhere!!!
