Sounds like the first thing you should do is go to your bank and change your checking account number!! Actually, maybe the second thing.... first thing you should do is call the 3 major credit agencies (Transunion, Equifax, and Experian) and report that your identity MIGHT have been stolen and they will put out an alert on your SS#- so if anyone tries to open anything in your name for credit, it will deny them unless they have certain documents to prove they are you. I had to do this, so this is how i know.

Any unauthorized activity on your checking account. Your name and address they could get from the phone book, so that doesn't matter. Having your checking account # could cause some problems, but it's on the bottom of each check you write, so it's not like it's too secure anyway.
If you are concerned, ask your bank to change your account number.

Call your bank, tell them what happened, they will close the account, and issue you a new one. If you don't call them, and someone uses your checking account,,,,, they can say you didn't take proper precautions, and you can be held accountable. changing your account, is fast, easy, and secure.
