Overall i believe both are equally as trusting as each other...
'''''Men were much more likely to say they trusted the stranger – part of their group – than they were strangers from other universities, whether they knew someone at the institutions or not. Women, while they trusted the stranger , were also significantly more likely than men to trust the stranger from a university at which they had a friend – implying a potential personal connection.''''''

You have asked a rather broad question, so here it is in a nut shell. Twenty five years ago, if you took society as a whole, men were sorrier than women. Things have changed now, if you look at society as a whole women are sorrier than men today! I have been involved with women for the past 44 years, and I have never been so disappointed in women in my whole life!! I don't mean just one or two either, I mean hundreds

I honestly think a persons trust is a reflectance of their own loyalty to their other half.
I have friends who have cheated on their partners and they are deffinately less trusting of said partners.
Having said that, I do think that women cheat on men more then men cheat on women. Either that or they just seem to get caught more often ...

Deffinately men. Women read into things way too much and have an expanation for everything, whereas men just take iit as it comes and don't tend to find fault in others untill they make it blatently obvious that there is reason to.

I think men are more trusting because in general women are more insecure about themselves and their relationships.

You know...I'm not sure...I think a lot of it depends on their past experiences...someone who has had their trust broken, is more likely to find it difficult to trust in the future, than someone who has not had that happen...and of course the more it has happened to someone, the more they mistrust others...
I would guess that women tend to overlook things (red flags) more than guys, so even if they are not more trusting, they are more apt to turn a blind eye to things they do not want to acknowledge...

I think women are more trusting, because they are more optimistic. Men are probably less trusting because they are more likely to stray, and therefore judge according to their own standards.
