Let's see...details...I remember the movie being about some kid on a farm. A meteor crashes on(near?) the farm and (naturally) starts to infect the animals with some kind of alien sickness. I remember the kids parents get infected and keep trying to make him eat infected food, if I remember right. The only other thing I remember is a cows head exploding and bugs flying all over the place.
I know it isn't much to go on, but if anyone has any ideas what movie this is your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I should watch "Critters" later. Love that movie! lol.

YumYum, I'm not quite sure whether or not it's "Invaders From Mars" or not...I don't remember there being any alien aliens in this flick (just infection) but I'm not quite sure...were there any cows full of bugs exploding in "Invaders From Mars"? lol.

It's called "The Curse".
It stars Wil Wheaton (who starred in 'Stand by Me') and Claude Akins(who recently made commercials for AAMCO transmission service).
The content of the meteor had contaminated the water.I remember the boy's mother was the first one to get infected, she became homicidal and insane and began to rot, for which she was locked in the basement. Then, his stepfather and stepbrother followed. But the boy was able to save himself and his little sister by sneaking in food and water from a doctor who lived in the city.

Sounds like the 1986 remake of "Invaders From Mars". A boy sees a meteor crash in the hills behind his farmhouse. The unseen aliens take over the bodies of the kid's parents. Little by little the towns people are taken over by the aliens. No one believes the boy except his school teacher (Karen Black). Together the boy & his teacher try to get to the bottom of this invasion to save the world. One disturbing scene in the movie involves the school principal getting caught eating a dead bullfrog from the science lab.

there is a lot of that have been suggested... SLUGS, April Fools Day, Step Father sequence.... Re animator, candy guy/sequel.. Leprechaun, Howling sequence, Sleep away Camp, Sorority bloodbath.. there is one a pair of killer Dentist with Ron Howards grotesque brother... lots of videos....

was Ernest Bourgnien in it as the father? That won was something in the water that grew into the food and made them get real mean, is that the one? don't remember the name though.
