Wondering about the conservatives out there. Do you prefer our current Neo-Con leadership or would you rather go back to conservative roots and have leaders who Goldwater Conservatives? Would you vote for a Goldwater Conservative over a Neo-Con?

In general I consider Goldwater to be sympathetic to a libertarian position. Hence, I would vote for him over the neo-cons any day...

Neo-con is such a misused statement it's difficult to say. I love Goldwater and stand behind his stances on most everything, although he's a libertarian in this day and age. I however, do believe in an aggressive foreign policy like the neo-cons. Not necessarily war "rah rah", but I can't turn away from the situation in Darfur (for example). I feel we should so do something to stop it.

I would vote for a TRUE conservative. but the dems that 'flip flopped' parties after Clinton have confused what it means to be a conservative. And goldwater would be considered left of center today. And so am I, except to my liberal friends who think I am fascist! lol
