Solitude stands by the window
She turns her head as I walk in the room
I can see by her eyes she's been waiting
Standing in the slant of the late afternoon

And she turns to me with her hand extended
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame

Solitude stands in the doorway
And I'm struck once again by her black silhouette
By her long cool stare and her silence
I suddenly remember each time we've met

And she turns to me with her hand extended
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame

And she says "I've come to set a twisted thing straight"
And she says "I've come to lighten this dark heart"
And she takes my wrist, I feel her imprint of fear
And I say "I've never thought of finding you here"

I turn to the crowd as they're watching
They're sitting all together in the dark in the warm
I wanted to be in there among them
I see how their eyes are gathered into one

And then she turns to me with her hand extended
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame

And she says "I've come to set a twisted thing straight"
And she says"l've come to lighten this dark heart"
And she takes my wrist, I feel her imprint of fear
And I say "I've never thought of finding you here"

Solitude stands in the doorway
And I'm struck once again by her black silhouette
By her long cool stare and her silence
I suddenly remember each time we've met

And she turns to me with her hand extended
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame

At night after I put my daughter to sleep and I go to bed. My husband stays up a little later than me. When I am all alone in my bed I feel really lonely. My daughter is 10 and I just recently quit sleeping with her, I know I know! But it was just the two of us for so long, it was just easier to keep her in bed with me. Now that she is not there I feel lonely.

When I am really stressed out, I just detach myself from the world. This causes my to feel lonely and even more stressed out. The weight of the world on my shoulders seems to get heavier.
When I'm alone I'm weak and helpless until I rectify myself.

After being rejected by someone you thought had accepted you. As a friend, lover, whatever. Or like right now, sitting and waiting for a BS reason, some 650 miles from home.

Right now. I'm surrounded by people, but I still just feel very alone inside. It sucks.

When I have a big problem that I can't tell noone, and even my closest friends cannot know about it, then I feel lonely. I feel like noone understands my troubles.
