DDR vs. SDRAM Market?

Question

I'm trying to select RAM for a new design, and I'm not sure whether to select DDR or SDRAM. Which will be more plentiful and lower cost in the future? Which is lower power? Which uses fewer pins. etc. Both meet my speed requirements now.

well sdram is rather old these days since its back in the intel p2-p3 days, since most new computers use DDR2
