I personally like the name Rayya (the islamic translation means light but the arabic translation means thirsty no longer)

But if you'd like to find a name that has a meaningful definition to you personally, then try Googling "muslim names". There are some sites where you can type the meaning into a search engine and a listof names will come up that all have that meaning. Then, you just choose the one that you think sounds the best! Best of wishes!

Unfortunately, Islamic names are not popular in American culture today. Some are dangerous to have, such as Osama and Sadaam. Steer clear of any well-known infamous names that your child may be associated with later. I would not want the child to suffer because of people's ignorance.

Other than that, I wouldn't know, since I'm not Muslim.

Best Wishes on the new baby.

Why would you give your kid a retarded sounding Islamic name like Osama or Saddam? The poor kid will get teased all the time!! Pick a name that won't cause the child to be picked on. When I was in school there was a pakistani kid named Gurpreet who got teased a lot. unless you live in Afganistan or something you should give the kid a normal name. Like Jeff, Steve, Paul, Joe, Peter not Abdesh or Allah or Jihad. Those are names that will just get his *** kicked in school.
