Right now, I wouldn't take my baby to ANY movie - she barely sits still enough for the episode of Blue's Clues, and that is 1/2 hour long!!
I do question the parents' judgement on taking a child to a movie like that, but your husband is right - the baby will not remember anything from the movie. But imagine if the kid would have woken up and started crying during the movie? I bet there would be a lot of ticket holders rather upset about all of the noise. . .
Are you over reacting? I don't think so. There is a reason they rate the movies R, NC-17, etc. I am thinking that a baby would fall into that 17 and under crowd. . . At least doing the math I know.

Geesh... talk about being desperate to see a movie... they should have left the baby with someone. I have a 5month old and would not even take my child to the movie at ALL!! It used to peeve me off when babies would start cryin at the movies and ruin it. Now that I have my own, I wouldn't... also, Saw 3 is just not appropriate even if the baby doesn't quite understand what they are watching. They can still HEAR and Saw 3 has nuttin but screams coming from it. That could cause baby to have nightmares. I don't think you over reacted.

I am a new Dad, and I would never consider taking him to the SAW III or any other horror movie.
Personally I would think twice before taking him to any movie at all. First of all theater loud noises can affect his hearing. Secondly should he start to cry it will make the movie experience miserable for us and the other oudience. If you must see a movie leave the baby with a family, friend, or babysitter.

NO WAY!!!! i remember when my daughter was a couple of months old, we bought "taking lives" with angelina jolie. Well, we decided to watch it while she slept in her crib (we shared a room) the volume wasnt loud, and it was a suspense not a horror movie, but theres a part where Angelina is laying on a bed, and of course the loud music comes on as a pair of arms wraps around her chest. My daughter let out a YELL that i didnt think a child of that age could do!!!! i got up and checked on her, she was still asleep, but that was enough for my husband and i not to watch movies like that when shes in the same room.
Also my husband and i went to see a movie...CRANK, a couple of months ago, and i was freaked when i saw a family with 4 kids the youngest looked my daughters age maybe (2), and the oldest looked maybe 8, the others were in between those ages. this movie had nudity, public sex, drugs, and violence, and adult language. i do not understand why anyone would take kids to these movies.

A baby in a carrier? Sounds like a really young baby to me. I don't think this baby was even paying attention to the movie. The baby was probably even asleep, or else it would have been causing alot of commotion. I think maybe you might be overreacting. If I HAD to I'd bring an infant in with me, but when they start getting close to a year old...I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to bring a baby to a movie in the first place.

I wouldn't even take a baby to the cinema if the featured film was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but that is just my opinion. Perhaps the child's mom NEEDED some time for her but couldn't get a sitter....unless that was the sitter in which case she needs to be fired... but situations like that happen. Maybe baby was asleep.
I know that it is far from ideal, but parents sometimes need to do what others don't like. Probably best if we all stop judging each other and offer support instead...

I wouldn't. I agree wtih your husb. (esp. if the baby was an infant). That baby had no idea that people were being cut up and killed and what have you. The reason I wouldn't take my baby to see a movie like that is for the noise. Screaming, chainsaws, gun fire, etc. It might scare the baby and cause her to scream, then I'd have to leave the theater and calm her down, only to return and have it happen again. Why even bother going to the movies?

I really don't think it is appropriate to bring infants or small children to the theatre at all. they cry and fuss, it is distracting. And what does a child need to go to the theatre for. Really if the person cannot find a sitter they shouldn't be going.
Secondly the movie itself doesn't matter the baby wouldn't understand or remember, my father watched a lot of horror movies when i was small, but i didn't understand them. kids don't have that understanding of violence, death, and pain the way we do. That is something that is taught.
But i don't know why anyone would want to see that movie anyway, i find gore to be too gruesome to watch no matter what your age.

babies/toddlers shouldn't have to see movies like that-even if they dont remember. Ive seen people bring their toddlers to see the emily rose movie a while back-pretty bad judgement. Im right there with you. I dont let my husband watch nip/tuck while holding our 7 month old. Just because they wont remember dosent mean its ok. Its not something for little eyes to see at any time. But I started taking the baby to see kid or comedy movies at about 5 months old and he always behaves! I make sure hes fed and has a clean diaper before we go in.

I cant beleive anyone would even take a baby to a movie I find it totally ignorant because what if they start crying, you actually have these ignorant people who will let the baby cry in thier carrier and just rock them.
I totally hate the theatre by me, people constantly bring babies or they leave thier cell phones on even when thier is a big sign at every door to turn your cell phone off.
It is ridiculous that I have to drive almost an hour to go to a movie theatre because the one thats 10 minutes from me has so many ignorant people. The one I go to about an hour away I never have a problem with anyone thier, your not allowed to bring babies nor do people leave thier cell phones on and the people thier are alot more mature, the people that go to the theatre near me all they do is yell and talk, so annoying.
