She did the same thing to the camera a couple years back when her and Tim McGraw were up for the same "Artist of the Year" award...wonder why no one jumped on it then...it's ridiculous! LMAO...she was joking around I think..but I'm wondering what the popular opinion is...(I watch the video of the CMA's from a couple years back this morning..it's true..she did the same thing...smiling...when her husband won..she was joking!)

I hadn't heard there was a controversy, but I did notice her reaction. I thought maybe I was just seeing things. I'll have to go find it and watch it again.

Okay...after further review I think it looks a little too dramatic to be a real reaction and so out of character for her that I don't believe it was a real reaction. She has issued a statement saying it was a joke, but I think it was a bad one. She should have just let Carrie have her moment and not stolen any of the spotlight with this "joke" which seems to be getting more attention today than Carrie's win. That's too bad.

She did that because it was Tim who won. I don't think this time she was joking. If she was, it was very poorly done. To me and to a heck of a lot of other people, it looked as though she was expecting to win and she was pretty ticked when it wasn't her. Lost a lot of points with me. Very surprised that she would act like that. Now, Carrie has to deal with the questions in every interview she does. It basically makes it like, "ok, you won, but what do you think of Faith's reaction??" in every interview for the next 6 months. I feel bad for her knowing that she has to see that and hear about it over & over again. The industry voted and now I think Faith did a heck of a lot of damage to her chances to ever be nominated or choosen to win again.

EDIT::: So, according to CNN.com, she was just joking. Ok, well, it still doesn't look like it to me. If she was joking, maybe she shouldn't have stormed off, but instead stayed in front of the camera and then laughed, smiled & claped.
To me, it sounds like damage control.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am not a big fan of country anyway, but I happened to be passing by on my channel surf and caught it - I didn't think anything of it. I thought she might have been surprised by who won, but not the fact that it wasn't her......

I think she was kidding around too. Didn't seem like she was seriously upset.
