The Mazda 3 is definitely faster. Although the exterior of a Scion makes it look like a sporty car, it really isn't, the tC isn't a very quick car, even after a few upgrades. It would be a fairly close race, the Mazda 3's stock engine is a 2.0 liter, but a 2.3 liter is available, while the Scion runs a 2.4 Liter. The Scion gets to 60 in about 7.8 seconds, while the Mazda with the 2.3 sprints to 60 in 7.3. So the mazda is faster, more practical, roughly the same price, and has 4 doors.

Proabably teh Mazda. I have a 2007 Scion Tc and it's not very fast.. Goes up to 150 miles I think, but not that fast.

the big joke we used to have at the repair garage was they will both go about 120 miles per hour if you push them both out of an airplane. seariously though, with speed you need control or you will wrap your self around a tree. so this is a loaded question. witl enough mony, you could invest in turbo chargers,nitris-oxide,different gear ratios for quarter mile races, or even high ratios for the autoban in germany. stay safe, have your fun, but don`t kill yourself. every thing you see at the movies is fake or computer generated
