Some people slag off off others because they do not look at the whole picture. Don't worry about what others think. Do what you feel is right. It is your life but my only criticism to my own comment is don't hurt others while you are doing it.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. It's time these narrow minded idiots stopped blaming teen mums for the countries problems and looked at the bigger picture for once!
I too was a teen mum, and have also been with their father for 6 years. I have 10 GCSEs and 5 A-Levels under my belt despite "having my life ruined" as some stupid people would think! I don't work at the minute as fortunately my partner has a good job, i take care of my baby daughter and i look forward to start my career in a couple of years after I've seen my gorgeous little girl grow up.
Are all middle aged people good parents? Certainly not! We are not foolish enough in general to pigeon hole the millions of parents in this country into the same box. Some are great and some are absolutely appalling.
So please have the decency to treat so called "teen mums" with the same respect and not be so damn prejudice against all of us just because of the minority of them in the press out there are giving us a bad name!!

i totally agree with you! i had my first child when i was 21 not as young as some mums but some young mums do the right thing by that child. even an adult grows up when they have there own child and most young mums do end up finishing school because they know they have a little one to support. i take my hat of to you for doing the best for your child and not being a bum like most adults with kids. i now have 2 kids my husband works full time and i work part time i`m also looking to start a college course to get some where in life good luck to all them young mums don`t let narrow minded idiots think you are stupid, young and immature prove them wrong:)

THANK YOU!! I am still pretty mad about that.. "I pay enough taxes" or whatever. Those people I don't care how old they freaking are those are the ones that should NEVER have children..
Good for you! I am glad someone else out there is sane.. See I am also a young mommy just like you, a little younger but yeah. I got pregnant with my son when I was 13 (raped and got pregnant). I took care of my child 100% I didn't recieve any help at all from my foster parents or the system. I worked to make money babysitting, mowing yards, inhome care for older people and pregnant women. I paid for child care, bills, food, diapers, formula EVERYTHING all by myself even though everyone around me thoguht I was stupid for not having an abortion. I moved out on my own when I was 15 and have lived on my own ever since. I am now 20 and sicne my son my husband and I have had a 2 almost 3 year old and a 12 and 1/2 week old both girls. My husband passed away when I was pregnant but my kids and I are doing just fine, I homeschooled myself and graduated HS early and then I went straight to college. I am still in college, work full time and I am not a judgemental a$s like 99% of those people who answered that question.

These issues are a black and white for some people. You either don't have a child until you are twenty five or you are a whore at sixteen. It's sad. People jump from one extreme to the other. These are the same people who think they are correct all the time.
While I don't condone teen pregnancy or suggest it--I know how it is. I was seventeen when I got pregnant with my son--I was living on with my HUSBAND, had a great job, working on my degree, had graduated from HS a year early, and taking full care (he lives with us) of my cousin. I have never used government assistance OR needed parental help.
So no, I don't use their tax dollars, I don't use my parents--who actually live 10 states away, I'm not a whore and I'm married.
The people who see it in black and white probably see everything that way. It's pitiful and sad.

The internet is totally anonymous, so people say stuff that they wouldn't dare say to someone directly. I don't find these flamers funny, but some people do, and some people just have a really negative attitude to young mums.
In the end it's just their opinons, though. Don't let strangers upset you... ignore them or if they're really out of order, report the post without responding directly... like these people are likely to be perfect in every aspect of their own lives anyway?

Good for you, but the people you say are narrow minded probably just think that there are a lot of very young parents who should follow your example but unfortunately do not.

The problem is that the more narrow-minded people are, the more opinionated they are and, usually, the more vocal they are in expressing their opinions as they always believe they're 100% correct and everyone else is wrong.
