Is your son's nickname trademarked. If not, you don't have a case.

It always amazes me how people try to come up with reasons to sue and get money...do you not have a life? You don't own the nickname, so how in the world do you think you can sue?

no. you can't copyright a name. You can trademark a name, but that is a whole different ballgame and legal matter. Unless you trademarked your son's nickname (or he did) , then no, you can't sue anyone for that.

it's actually not a matter of copyright, but a similiar idea- trademarking, the name needs to be registered as an official trademark, and then action could've taken place.
