Terrorism and Global Warming.

Well, getting a good job -I do not aim to be rich, thank God, at least I don't have THAT disease...- a job that would provide me with enough to be able to buy a house -however small and old and nasty, still a house- within the next very few decades and being able to go on vacation at least once every two years, just not being poor.

Keeping that job. I am afraid that the 'job market', -as it is still childishly and stubbornly called- is getting harsher and harsher with people who aren't just out of college. I am afraid that if I do lose it I'll never get a half-decent job again, perhaps some undignified sinecure at best. I'm OK for now, but I know I'm gonna really have that social beating which is cronic unemployment handed out to me when I'm older.

I am not worried about terrorism, US foreign policy, or much even about what my own government is doing, even though I know they're up to real trouble this time around. I think I am not even worried about staying healthy or anything. The whole nuclear war thing always jerks some laughter out of me, and I could care less about the folks in Iraq or world hunger, let them solve their own problems; we all are trying to, and have been doing a relatively good job without foreign aid or bombs, it's time they gave it a shot. I know how harsh this should sound to most, given how outspoken people are on these distant subjects nowadays, matters so foreign unto the point where they become a nuisance every time they are brought up; well I am a sinner as far as that goes, I guess. Those so called BIG problems are of little concern to me, and I'll tell you why: I have my own problems, -and I don't mean just the 'personal issues' which concern everyone with a mind, but also how messed up the context which I've been molded into is. The actual World where my life is taking place and will continue to do so is the realm to which my main general concerns pertain.

Thus, my two main concerns about living in the 21st century as mentioned above.

The fact that there seems to be no chivalry left in the world. it makes me question whether or not it ever existed. There was a time when a man would treat a woman with respect, and women would dress with modesty and demand the respect they're to be treated with. There was a time when a man would be more concerned with telling the truth and doing what was right rather than taking the easy way out. There was a time when people respected each other, and honored each other... There was a time when our leaders were servants of the people, and now we exist to serve our leaders whims... Where has all of the good gone? Why is it that we consistently take the easy road, just because it's more convenient. We see it in our culture all around us... We are the fast food generation... instant gratification... Show me the man or woman that is willing to stand up for truth, and justice, and for the things that are right... and I will show you the next great hero of our time.

These are the things that plague my thoughts.

The amount of blood shed about to happen.
The next few wars will be amazing in the death toll, human misery. The other factors that go with war, famine, cruelty, etc. will have their records also.
People have to start understanding sharing resources and plan better for long range future goals, on every issue.
Watching as no one will take measures to prevent all the bad about to happen, but everyone "in the know" just plan to profit before/during and after wars and disasters happen.
Humanities morale is slowly eroding away. The great boosts of humanity are fading to distant memories - in my lifetime. Humans flew and cured illnesses, invented amazing things for the betterment of humanity. Humanity could be in space, or other morale boosting endeavors but no one will commit to anything to seem out of the norm. All the risk takers are called names, and rarely helped by governments.
People wring their hands and wail about their causes - but never is an effort really made to understand and remove a cause. All the cancers are still here, and AIDS - and yet the brain power and money are never enough? And yet polio has a cure, and other illnesses and for far less bureaucratic nonsense, or waste. Everyone wants theirs first, then they'll cure the masses. GREED is going to ruin humanity.
Look at how no one cares about Africa. A whole continent, and the effort to provide any real help is so small. Look at how the rich dump their trash on the poorer countries, and wink doing it.
To be honest - there's to much to be honest about.
Thanks for letting me rant...
It's time to prepare for prayer and a little shut eye.
Peace.

There are lots of things that I am concerned about living in the 21st century. Here are just a few:
Racisim - it is becoming to be a joke there are many different types of racisim whether they be about colour or religion. Since this war on terrorism has become the main topic of our time people have been on edge about many different things, people and how they will react. I heard on the news today that 3 asian men who killed a 15 year old scottish white boy and were convicted although this was a terrible time the good thing that has come out of it is the family of this boy has not turned it into a big political man hunt everyone in the community have condemed these people all religions and races have come together. There were two flags where it happened a Scottish flag and a muslim flag to show that dirrferent communities can unite. Why people are actually trying to turn on there own I do not know. We all live in this country so why are there people here trying to divide all races and not try and stick together and try an combat the idea that they have to turn against each other over this stupid war..... There is only one person to blame and that is Tony Blair and his big boss George Bush.
Also if we had the greatest peace leader alive to try and keep us together and all live in harmony, the Great Luther Martin King, who gave his life to trying to stop segregation, he would be spinning in his grave at the thought of people so many years on have not tried to put there own differences aside.

Murderers: These people have no right to take another persons life. I have read nothing apart from dads killing their own children.
Why if you hate what your partner is doing do you stop your own childs life and future. They are little precious angels and have had their lives taken just for revenge. I think it is disgusting and these people should be held in prison for life, so they can live with what they have done.
Teenagers are now turning on each other with guns, who are supplying them? do they not feel guilty? Why is there so many deaths which are so called people being in the wrong place at the wrong time. These kids these days don't understand that a persons life is precious and that if the shoe was on the other foot how would they feel. How would their families feel? Most of these killings they say are gang related I disagree, it depends on the person that you are and what your morals are.

pedophiles - Who the hell keeps letting these people return back to their place of residence after being put away and apparently been rehabilitated. I think that more and more people should be told of what or who is living and going on in their area. I think that their should be more protection for children. Police should be keeping more of an eye on these sick people. I think that there should be more laws installed in this country to make sure that these people should not be allowed to offend or reoffend. The government is too worried about cost and are totally focused on making new taxes and keeping there mind focused on war. If they put more concentration in to the future of our children and their safety then there would be less offences. They should be saving our children not helping put them at risk.

Global Warming : It is not only British people and companies to blame the major country that is making global warming a big threat is America. The have the highest carbon monoxide emitance then any other country and they are the ones who do not do hardly anything to help it. They have no boundries on there levels not as much as any other country.

The Government : They are the biggest problem that this country has and they are going to be the cause of the end of it one day. The people according to the goverment are too free with there way of life. They do not want us to be free at all...they put so many taxes on the people that it causes stress and it causes peole to become ill or die from this. People are overworking themselves to help make ends meet because the government says that it is Law. Students have heavy debts because they want to learn, the government is pro- education but where are their futures if they are in debt before they can actually start in life.
Terrorism is tearing this world apart but the government is now targeting anyont that is asian they chould be trying to back our communities not to try to tear it down. The police are now armed hence the murder of the barzillian guy at the train station.
Who will be next, an innocent child, a pregnant woman, innocent people who just live but have been put in the terrible circle of terrorism just for belonging to the culture they belong to.

I believe that none of these issues are going to be resolved which makes everyone in this world untolerant for other peoples way of life. If it all works out then people would be living in utopia. Just a shame that the goverment wants to police this state how about peoples right to privacy it will never happen.........no one is allowed to live free, no freedom of speech no views because apparently the government believes that they are right.

Well....IF I were honest....

what concerns me most about living in the 21st century is watching the rapid deterioration of society and civilization and not being able to do a damn thing about it.

Increasing state control and interference in our lives, global warming, globalisation, religious bigotry, the spread of neo conservative politics, capitalism totally out of control and the widening gap between those who have absolutely nothing and those who have far more than their fair share. There are lots of other things too but that will do for now.

It has to that humankind is consuming up the world's resources at an unbelievable rate without replacing them or giving them time to replenish.

And the situation will only get worse as the world's population will continue to explode.

Will my grandchildren be born into a world that is as naturally rich and diverse as the world i was born into? I doubt it.

The sick manifestations of greed for money and power. As far as terrorism goes, that has been around a long time and is only an issue because we needed a label for a new enemy. Fear feeds the military industrial complex. We made Iraq into a terrorism issue when it never was before.
