What things will the US Government not fund if we're not going
to raise taxes to pay for the war?

Is this where the term "Starve the beast" comes from?

How about we cut elsewhere like....

- Subsidies to industry/agri-business (tobacco, corn, wool, mohair, etc.)
- Foreign Aid
- Kill all pork-barrel earmarks

If the deficit is really in the $200-300 billion range (which its not-- its more like $600-800BB), then cut across the board whatever percentage that is of the budget + some to retire some of the national debt.

That implies that you need to raise taxes in order to raise revenues (misguided as most Democrats are regarding tax policy). You clearly need to learn more about how the economy and taxes work in the real world.

Spending for Social Services has exploded during Bush's term in office, yet you imply that they will be cut. They have not. If Congress just slowed down their "out of control" spending slightly, we would have had a balanced budget already.

By the way, tax receipts were up $521 billion over the last two years (following Bush's devastating "tax cuts for the rich"). Dems will never get it. They have a learning disability and are so simple-minded when it comes to understanding tax policy and human behavior.

Grandma's not eating dog food and the 20% of our children are not living in poverty as some like to say when using their scare tactics against the uninformed among us.

Before the cost for the war effort, we have fiscal crises to consider regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and that good old "Ponzi Scheme" they call Social Security. The cost of the war is a "drop in the bucket" in comparison. These programs will bring this country to its knees over the coming 30 years. Things will never be the same.
