I have an eMachines (D3315) computer that is currently at a lowly:
DDR-RAM 256MB (Max. 2GB)
I generally use my computer for downloading music, photos and internet use.
Here are my memory options:

1. 256MB $36.93
2. 512MB $64.19
3. 1GB $118.87

I really just want my computer to run faster when I'm on the net considering that I tend to have multiple internet explorer windows open while running instant messaging applications and downloading music at the same time.

So my question, which memory upgrade should I buy?

Increasing memory is always good. If you are running XP I would suggest a minimum of at least 512 mb. If you can afford the 1GB go for it.

Dont just look at the memory size. Look at the BUS speed of the memory as well. If your board and CPU run at 800mhz then you dont want to get memory that runs at lets say 333mhz. It creates a bottle neck on your system. Be careful on what brands you buy too. Corsair is always a good brand to buy.

any of those upgrades will help. If you can afford the 1 GB then do it. The more the better in this case.

No need to upgrade memory just for multiple browsing.. use Firefox and its tabbed browsing option
