I have not heard that one. In Texas, you cannot sell beer before 12:00 on Sunday. They are left over from what was called Blue Laws. I am sure that it is the same in Kentucky. Most likly it was made in a time when some folks traded whiskey for votes....

How bizarre! I've never heard of that in my life! They sell it here, I guess we need it more to deal with all the crooks we elect. If anything they should give it away at the polls. It would make selecting from crook a or crook b easier to take.

Well, in previous times, people used to drink and being not sober not only they were in position to vote properly but also a lot of fights would start, thus, drinking had been prohibited while voting!

Kinda makes sense to not have sh*t faced people voting. It could also be because emotions can get heated during an election and alcohol could exacerbate some arguments.

it's the law in indiana too...but it seems as though Ind. Licensed Beverage Assoc and the Restaurant and Hospitality Assoc of Indiana wants to push for a change.

In the past people were bribed with alcohol to vote for certain delegates, and whatttt you don't live in a dry county.

Same in PA and about 6 other states...they don't want people to go vote intoxicated
