5t-10t-st+2s

If this is to be factored by grouping, then I think you meant to write

5t - 10 - st + 2s

Here you can factor 5 from the left two terms, and -s from the right two terms

5(t - 2) -s(t - 2)

Note the sign change before the last term

Remembering the distributive rule

a(b + c) = ab + ac

In our expression, a = (t - 2), so we write

(t - 2)(5 - s)

the answer is -5t-st+2s
1. the reason the answer is this is because 5t-10t = -5t
2. than you can not subtract st from -5t because you do not know what s is. and because it is not the same as t.
3. than you add 2s to the equation but since you do not know what t is you can not get a definite answer
